Subscription Policy

Billing that respects you.

Document version 1.0-draft · Effective July 22, 2026 · Applies to the Optim Board Room desktop application.

Draft — attorney review required

This plain-language draft describes how Board Room actually works today. It must be reviewed by a qualified attorney before any paid launch, and it is separate from the Optim 3D-printing store policies.

01 / Current status

Nothing is charged today

Board Room's early public release is free and has no payment system. This policy takes effect only when paid plans launch, and it will be shown for explicit acceptance during any future checkout.

02 / What checkout will look like

Clear price, explicit consent

Before any subscription starts you will see the plan name, exact price, billing interval, included features and limits, when the first charge occurs, any trial terms, and automatic renewal behavior. A separate, never-preselected authorization (for example: “I authorize Optim to charge [price] every [period] until I cancel”) will be required. Payments will be processed by Stripe; Optim will not see or store full card numbers. An Optim subscription never includes AI-provider API charges or memberships.

03 / Cancellation

Cancel online, anytime

Cancellation will be available online through Settings → Billing (Stripe's customer portal) — no phone calls or letters required. Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues to the end of the paid period. Declining new terms will never prevent you from cancelling, deleting your account, or exporting your data.

04 / Refunds

Fair by default

Duplicate or clearly erroneous charges will be refunded. Beyond that, refund windows and proration rules will be finalized with the pricing. [ATTORNEY REVIEW REQUIRED: refund terms, trials, grace periods for failed payments, and jurisdiction-specific consumer-protection requirements (e.g. EU withdrawal rights).]
